Noemi Thomas Pillow October 09th, 2018 - 14:49:18
I kept seeing these cute pillows with tassels at the edges on Pinter est and on anthropology, and I decided to make one myself since it's a very popular design, which is very easy to make. I'm going to show you how to create one for yourself at home. You will need three different fabrics, plain or printed scissors, a wool yarn and some pillow stuffing to start off draw a right triangle on one of the fabrics. Each side should be 40 centimeters long.
Now cut a triangle out and use it as a stencil to make another one out of your second fabric, then fold one of the triangles in half in order to create a smaller one, which you will use as a stencil to cut out the third triangle. Now it's time to decide where to place. The small triangle I chose to place it over the polka dotted fabric, make sure you place it facing down. You need to secure it on the chosen fabric using some pins and then shoe it using a straight stitch, now flip it over, and I suggest that you iron the fabric after each of these steps to make sure it looks nice and neat now that there's only Two triangles left place them on top of each other, with their good side, inwards, pin them and then shoot them together using a straight stitch.
I've used this side of the pillow to create another square for the backs out of white cotton fabric. Then I flip the front part facing down over the white back. I've, pin it and chew it, but make sure you leave a 10 centimeter gap at the bottom. So you can turn it inside out once again, once you've done that you can start stuffing it,to close the gap, bend the sides, inward spin them and shoot them using a straight stitch.
If you want to add some tassels at the corners you'll need the wool yarn and a piece of cardboard. The width of the paper will be the length of your tassel. You can decide on whatever length you prefer start by wrapping the wool around the paper. once you're happy with the thickness tie a double knot at one end and slide it off the paper cut the other end of the patch off and then tie another thread at the top
